During our free video call consultation, we’ll also arrange a date for your appointment. Once confirmed, you’ll receive the booking details via our online system, FRESHA.

A confirmation will be sent to you by text and/or email, so you’ll have all the information you need at your fingertips.

Deposit Requirement:

Appointment times are scheduled in advance. To avoid appointment cancellation and others missing out on time slots a £50 non-refundable deposit is required to confirm you appointment.

I will send you payment request shortly after the date has been discussed. Deposit Payment will need to be made within 48 hours of the appointment offer - that way, your slot is locked in. Otherwise the appointment will be released back to others.

Please note that our cancellation policy is strictly 48 hours. If you wish to cancel/change your confirmed booking, please use the link in your booking confirmation or alternatively send me an email or call me prior to the 48 hour cut of window.

Failure to honour cancellation policy, will result in addition to losing your £50 non-refundable deposit but also add an additional £25 surcharge to your next booking.

If you are changing and not cancelling your timeslot prior to the 48 hours period you will not lose your deposit and an additional surcharge is not applicable.

Changing your appointment is only valid for one time and you will need to pay an additional £10 for a new patch test to be taken within one week before your appointment but no later than 48 hours prior.

If you reschedule after the one time grace rescheduling period the cancellation policy will kick in.

Your well-being is priority above anything else.

To ensure your safety, a patch test must be completed at least one week prior to your appointment - This will be sent to you by post. It is advisable to complete the patch test as soon as you receive it to avoid it drying out and needing to be replaced.

You will also receive a disclaimer form through our booking system, which must be read and completed honestly and accurately.

It's essential that you confirm whether you’ve experienced any reaction to the patch test.

The completed form must be submitted no later than one week before your scheduled appointment.

Please set aside a 3-hour time slot for your appointment.

I work efficiently while applying and carrying out the treatment, but keep in that everyone's hair is unique, and the duration of the process may vary.

How to Prepare Your Space for Treatment

To ensure a smooth and safe treatment experience, please:

Provide a clean, clutter-free, and well-ventilated space with good lighting.
Have a comfortable chair available for the treatment.
Ensure access to a power outlet and hot water.
Arrange safe, legal parking nearby.
Keep children and pets away from the treatment area.

At Keratins of Kent, I use the professional application method taught by Belle Academy, one of the UK’s leading hair and beauty training providers. This ensures every treatment is carried out with precision, safety, and salon-quality results — in the comfort of your own home.

Here’s how the process of application works on the day:

Step 1: Preparation

Hair is thoroughly combed and assessed to determine the appropriate formula to be used.
The Keratin Treatment is shaken well to activate the formula.

Step 2: Application

Keratin is applied to pre-washed dry hair, 1 cm away from the scalp to avoid contact with hair follicles.
The treatment is brushed onto small sections of hair and excess product is combed out.
The formula works by strengthening and smoothing the hair from the inside out with its liquid protein complex.

Step 3: Processing Time

The keratin is left to process for 20 - 30 minutes, allowing it to fully absorb into the hair shaft. Occasionally I use a plastic shower cap to avoid the formula from drying out.

Step 4: Blow-Drying

Hair is blow-dried until it is completely dry.

Step 5: Heat Sealing

A professional flat iron is used - sometimes two (one in each hand) to straighten each section of hair.
This step seals the keratin into the hair shaft, locking in smoothness, shine, and frizz control.

Proper aftercare is crucial for maximising the lifespan and effectiveness of a Brazilian Blow Dry, also known as a keratin treatment.

It helps the treatment bond with the hair and prevents it from washing out prematurely. Specifically, avoiding washing for the first few days, using gentle, sulfate-free products, and minimizing heat styling can all contribute to longer-lasting results.

Please wash your hair in the evening the day before your appointment three times with Sulfate-free shampoo before your appointment.

The first two washes remove build-up, and the third allows the shampoo to sit on the hair for a few minutes, maximising its cleansing effect.

Washing your hair three times with Sulfate-free shampoo before a Brazilian Blow Dry helps thoroughly cleanse it and open the hair cuticles, preparing it for the treatment.
